1st Workshop on High Technology and Service Marketing

Welcome to the 1st Workshop on High Technology and Service Marketing, to be held at the Stockholm University School of Business, May 2-4, 2012.

During the workshop the participants will share their research contributions and novel works in the fields of relevance for the theme of the workshop, engaging in fruitful discussions and providing feedback to each other.

The three-day workshop is organized in a continuous line of parallel sessions of two to three papers with a chair person welcoming the authors and visitors, and keeping track of time. Only a limited number of authors can be admitted to the workshop. The authors will have 15 minutes for presentations after which the appointed discussants will have 30 minutes for providing feedback and initiating the discussion.

By submitting the paper each participant will be requested to prepare feedback on 2 other papers. The participants will be notified about the appointed papers one week after the submission and three weeks before the workshop start. The number of the participants will be limited. All of the participants are kindly asked to prepare digital presentations of their papers.

High-profile speakers and guests

The workshop will feature world renowned keynote speakers Steve Vargo (Univeristy of Hawaii), Per Andersson (Stockholm School of Economics) and Jan Markendahl (Royal Institute of Technology). Per Andersson and Jan Markendahl will give a talk about the "Marketing of Mobile Services".

There will also be a business practitioners’ panel about challenges in servitization of technology companies, with distinguished guests from several large Swedish industrial companies.

Themes

The workshop is open for empirical and conceptual research papers or works in progress related to topics of high technology and service marketing. The themes discussed during the workshop include:
• Marketing in high technology contexts
• Marketing of high technology products
• Marketing with high technology products and innovations
• Servitization and service infusion
• Development of new service-oriented value propositions in high technology contexts
• Other topics of relevance to the theme of the workshop

• Thursday May 3rd, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM: Sessions, lunch and a dinner.

Submission Guidelines and Information

Please note that the deadline for submission of abstracts has been postponed. 

February 10, 2012: Deadline for submission of abstracts:
The abstract of maximum 250 words is to be submitted by email. Research proposal, research papers, or works-in-progress are welcome. The abstract should include full name(s) of the author(s), the affiliation(s), and full contact details of the corresponding author, together with the indication of the theme.
February 14, 2012: Notification of acceptance
April 2, 2012: Deadline for submission of full papers:
The length of the paper should be within the limits of 5000-7000 words including a list of references. The documents are to be submitted as PDFs to the e-mail address below.

 April 11, 2012 – April 27, 2012 – Payment of the workshop fee of SEK 1.000.
