Exchange students
As a special service Stockholm University tries to assist students from partner universities with accommodation. However the housing situation in Stockholm can be difficult and we do not guarantee that we can provide housing for all exchange students. The application for housing is included on the registration form for Stockholm University. You can choose if you would like to live in a room on a student corridor or in a student apartment.
Your request for housing will be sent by us to the Housing Office at the International Exchange Unit of Stockholm University, and your application for accommodation will then be handled through them.
Visit the Housing Office's website for more information. If the University is unable to provide you with accomodation you may find the links below useful.
Finding housing on your own
If you are ‘Free-mover’ or independent international student you should use the information below to find accomodation in Stockholm. Look out for notices on the University notice boards and make sure to use any contacts you have to find a place to live. Some useful websites are listed below. Some of the accomodation sites are in Swedish, which is indicated by this abbreviation: (sv)

Note! Never pay anything in advance to someone who doesn’t have a Swedish bank account, who can’t show you the place in person for some reason or promises to send you the key to your home country! To make sure you don’t lose any money, never pay anything in advance unless it is to a real estate agency (fees for their services etc.).
