Are you the student entrepreneur of the year?

'Årets studentföretagare' is a competition for undergraduate students who own and run businesses alongside their studies. The competition is part of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA). The winner will receive a prize of 50.000 SEK. Last day to enter the competition is June 29th.

'Årets studentföretagare' is a competition organised by the Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth - Tillväxtverket. The purpose of the competition is to acknowledge and reward entrepreneurial and ambitious students who run businesses alongside their studies.

Competition criteria

  • The student must be an undergraduate student at a recognized “universitet“ or “högskola” for the 2011/2012 academic year and enrolled in school at the time of application.
  • The student must show study results for at least 30 HP (halvfart) for the 2011/2012 academic year.
  • The student must be the owner/one of the owners of their company and principally responsible for its operation.
  • The student’s company must have been in business for at least the past six consecutive months, and the business must be a for-profit business.

Students are either nominated or enter the competition themselves using our online nomination form. Once we receive a nomination, the nominee is contacted with a link to the formal Årets studentföretagare application. Please note that a student is only considered entered into the competition once we have received the completed online application.
  
The final takes place in Stockholm on September 12th.  First prize is 50 000 SEK and participation in the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) in the U.S. in November. First prize in the GSEA is 10 000 USD.
