On Tuesday the 17th of January the official launch of the HITS programme was held at the Marketing Department at the School of Business. Jakki Mohr from the University of Montana was present and gave an inaugural talk about the importance and relevance of the Technology Marketing field of research.
- We are proud of this programme and we are very excited to have Jakki here. There are lots of things to do, but we are eager to contribute to the improvement of our School of Business and to this meaningful field of research, said Fredrik Nordin, HITS Director, when speaking at the launch.
Jakki Mohr is an innovator in the field of marketing high-technology products and services, and has achieved international acclaim for her book “Marketing of High-Technology Products and Innovations”, a textbook that has become the work of choice in business schools at colleges and universities worldwide, as well as for company training sessions. During her stay at the School, Jakki Mohr also taught the first Technology Marketing Course in the Consumer and Business Marketing Master´s programme. The course was a great success and the students were thrilled to have Jakki on campus.
- After the final lecture, students were queuing up to get her to sign copies of her book, it was like she was a rock star, says Luigi Servadio, Research Assistant.
1st Workshop on High-Technology and Service Marketing
Next for the HITS programme is the 1st Workshop on High-Technology and Service Marketing, to be held at the Stockholm University School of Business on May 2-4 2012. The workshop will feature world renowned keynote speakers Steve Vargo (Univeristy of Hawaii), Per Andersson (Stockholm School of Economics) and Jan Markendahl (Royal Institute of Technology).
The workshop will also feature a business practitioners’ panel about challenges in servitization of technology companies, with distinguished guests from several large Swedish industrial companies.
Please note that the deadline for submission of abstracts has been postponed until February 10, 2012. Notification of Acceptance is February 14, 2012.
